The Hepburn Shire Youth Census is a shire-wide youth engagement activity run by Hepburn Shire Council in partnership with Youth Gurus to give young people aged between 10 and 25 a voice in what happens next in our Shire to better serve young people living, working, studying or playing in our towns and communities.

Mayor, Cr Lesley Hewitt said that Council is beginning to develop a new Youth strategy to support young people within our communities, and the census feedback will help in this process.

“There will be different engagement activities to help gather feedback from our young people, including a youth led co-design group, school pop ups, online Youth Census, online community youth pop-up sessions and collaborative stakeholder workshops.

“This is a great opportunity for young people in our Shire to have a voice in the development of a strategy that hopes to improve their lives in Hepburn Shire,” said Cr Hewitt.

The Youth Census will remain open until 5 November 2021, with results and outcomes from the census being publicly available at www.hepburnshireyouthcensus.com.au.
