Work has commenced on the Hammon Park Trailhead. This project will deliver a community space at Hammon Park which includes additional parking, nature play, cycling jumps course, learn to ride circuit, shaded seating area, water bubbler and cycle wash area.

Mayor, Cr Tim Drylie, said that the improvements being made at Hammon Park are much anticipated and will activate this space for people of all ages.

“The community is very excited to see this project go ahead. We look forward to working with an experienced contractor on a project that will transform this site into a well-used and activated recreational space,” said Cr Drylie.

In September 2020, Council adopted a masterplan for the Hammon Park Trailhead. Council was awarded a $2.1 million grant for construction from Sport and Recreation Victoria through the Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program in March 2021. The expected completion date is November 2022. The masterplan for the site is available at https://participate.hepburn.vic.gov.au/creswick-trails-project-hammon-park-trailhead.

The trailhead will complement the Creswick Trails, where a planning permit for the 60km network of mountain bike trails as part of the Creswick Trails was issued on 25 January 2022.
