Join a listening post and meet the mayor

Hepburn Shire Council invites the community along to its new Meet the Mayor and Listening Post sessions, which will provide an opportunity for residents to speak with Councillors and staff about local projects, highlight ideas or raise concerns.

Creswick is the location of the first session, with a Listening Post kicking off on Wednesday 27 July at Creswick Town Hall.

“These monthly sessions will be a great way for the community to come along and find out about Council activities and have a chat with staff and Councillors in an informal setting,” said Mayor, Cr Tim Drylie.

“At our first session we’ll have staff on-hand to talk about the Creswick Trails, Hammon Park trailhead, conservation works on Creswick Town Hall, storm recovery, as well as general Council-related services or infrastructure,” he said.

“These face-to-face sessions are another way we’re improving engagement and communication with our community. Some of the other changes we’ve made over the last 18 months are our new user-friendly website, the Participate Hepburn engagement platform, drop-in sessions for Council projects and topics including Hepburn Together, our monthly e-newsletter Hepburn Life, and livestreaming Council meetings.

“These sessions offer a unique way for us to hear directly from our community and understand the key questions or issues. We look forward to seeing you at a Listening Post or Meet the Mayor session.”

Listening Posts will be open to everyone to drop-in, without the need to register or book a time. For the Meet the Mayor sessions, community members are able to book a 30-minute private meeting either online or in person. Find details at Participate Hepburn.

  • Creswick Listening Post – 4pm to 6pm Wednesday 27 July at Creswick Town Hall
  • Meet the Mayor – Wednesday 24 August
  • Daylesford Listening Post – 4pm to 6pm Wednesday 28 September
  • Meet the Mayor – Wednesday 26 October
  • Glenlyon Listening Post – 4pm to 6pm Wednesday 23 November
  • Meet the Mayor – Wednesday 22 February 2023
  • Trentham Listening Post – 4pm to 6pm Wednesday 22 March 2023│ 4pm to 6pm
  • Meet the Mayor – Wednesday 26 April 2023
  • Clunes Listening Post – 4pm to 6pm Wednesday 24 May
  • Meet the Mayor – Wednesday 28 June 2023
