Council is developing a 10-year Aquatics Strategy and is seeking community feedback on current aquatic facilities across the Shire, in particular how people use and enjoy these facilities, along with ideas for improvements and what aquatics should look like in the Shire in the future.

The strategy is an important project for Council and has been co-funded by Council and Sport and Recreation Victoria (Victoria State Government).

Mayor, Cr Lesley Hewitt, said that this is an important opportunity for the community to provide feedback and let Council know what they think about the state of our current aquatic facilities.

Current facilities in the Shire are:

  • Daylesford Community Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Trentham Community Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Clunes Community Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Creswick Splash Park
  • Calembeen Park Toddlers Pool

“The Strategy will guide the future strategic direction, priorities of infrastructure development, asset management, operational development, and activation of aquatics assets throughout the Shire.”

“There are several ways the community can provide feedback, including completing a community survey, in person at pop-up sessions being held across the Shire or by making an individual submission.

“It’s important that the community let us know what they like about current facilities, what needs improvement and what new aquatic assets the community would like to see in our Shire townships,” said Cr Lesley Hewitt.

The online Community Survey is now open and can be accessed at: www.surveymonkey.com/r/HepburnAquaticStrategyCommunitySurvey.

The survey will close at 5pm, Wednesday 30 June 2021.

A hard copy of the survey is available from the Hepburn Shire Customer Service Centres - Duke Street Office, Daylesford, The Warehouse - Clunes, Creswick Hub and Trentham Hub.
