A tender has been released for the implementation of a new public toilet and Changing Place at Hammon Park.
The public toilet is composed of one accessible cubicle with shower and three ambulant toilet cubicles.
The Changing Place is a specially designed unit with a shower, changing table and toilet. Access to this cubicle is reserved for those who need this level of service. All cubicles are unisex.
Mayor Cr Drylie said that the public toilet and Changing Place are part of the Hammon Park Trailhead Master Plan.
“We look forward to receiving some competitive tenders for this project.
These facilities are important to our community, particularly given the popularity of this precinct,” said Cr Drylie.
In parallel, a tender to construct the Hammon Park Trailhead has been released.
This contract is for the implementation of the community space at Hammon Park which includes additional parking, nature play, cycling jumps course, learn-to-ride circuit, shaded seating area, water bubbler and cycle wash area.
Once constructed, this facility will serve as the trailhead for the Creswick Trails. The improvements being made at Hammon Park are much anticipated and will activate this space for people of all ages,” said Cr Drylie.
Pending a successful tender process, awarding of these contracts is proposed for the February 2022 Council Meeting.
Both of these contracts are supported by the Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund made available through the State Government and a generous contribution from the Creswick Community Bank.
The Creswick Trails Network will compose of 60 kilometres of purpose-built mountain bike trails beginning at Hammon Park. Council is currently working towards a planning permit for the Creswick Trails Network and will provide a further update on the progress of this very important project shortly.
